July came and went so quickly that it’s hard to believe that summer is more than half way over. I also can’t believe that while July started out well with me getting my Disappearing Nine Patch quilt sandwiched and hand-basted… that’s as far as I got.
It will now be my August goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes.
July wasn’t a total wash though. I did have three finishes but they weren’t on any of my to-do lists. A pair of PJ pants and PJ shorts for our middle daughter made from vintage sheets and a new housecoat for me made from a thrifted 100% cotton shower curtain. In the process I rediscovered my almost forgotten love and enjoyment for sewing clothing.
Last weekend, I purchased a pattern to make some pretty new nightgowns for myself.
Joann’s had that pretty cotton fabric on sale 30% off and with a coupon for 20% my entire purchase, I couldn’t resist buying it. It’s difficult to tell from the photo but there are tiny white butterflies on the green background.
So before I start quilting my DP9, I’m going to do some just for me sewing.
What are you working on this week?

August 6, 2015 4:22 amJuly did seem to go rather quickly. I’m not at all sure what, if anything I’ve done – apart from going to four concerts and an exhibition!
