Our second quilt shop stop was The Quilt Box in Dry Ridge, KY. This is one of my favourite shops to explore not just for the wonderful selection of fabrics but because it’s a pretty drive to get there. (I’ve written about this shop before here and here.)
The directions to the shop say: “Take I-75 Exit 159 Dry Ridge. Go west on KY 22. Turn right onto KY 467. Go 2 miles. Turn left onto East Flynn Road. Head to Walnut Springs Farm.”
When you get to East Flynn Road, there’s this sign to let you know that this is the correct road.
And a good thing too, because when you turn onto East Flynn road, you may well begin to wonder if the directions are wrong as this is the sight that greets you.
Travel down that dirt road as it dips and curves and dips and curves some more. The first time you go, you may well begin to wonder what kind of a quilt shop is at the end of a single lane dirt road until you reach a clearing and there you’ll find The Quilt Box.
The grounds surrounding The Quilt Box are just as pretty as the drive to get there and while I was shopping, Dave kept himself busy taking pictures.
He took some incredible close-ups the flowers.
Wouldn’t those make beautiful post cards?
As I mentioned this is one of my favourite stops so Dave must have been surprised when all I came out with was this little pattern for an embroidered pillow.
But there is always next time!
