Helping you create a home by hand.

Scrap Hats

I discovered several balls of worsted weight yarn leftover from other projects in the bottom of my knitting bag.    None were big enough on their own to make anything so I’ve decided to make scrap hats or as they’re called in Canada… toques.

Below is a photo of the one I started last night while watching Selling LA on HGTV.

Living in a cold climate for several months of the year, it never hurts to have an extra toque (or two or three) on hand at home or in the car for times when one gets lost or forgotten.

I also discovered leftover balls of baby sport weight yarn.  I’ll show you what I’ve been making with those in another post.

I would be so pleased if you chose to share by clicking on one of the buttons below!

Too bad the “several months of the year” sometimes feels like like it lasts for MOST of the months of the year, lol! Good going on using up stash!

Wow! After yesterday’s sizzle fest good on you for knitting a toque! I often wonder how they came up with the name “baby sport weight” yarn. What sport would babies be involved in, and why is the yarn involved a special weight? These are the things I think about in hot weather. Cheers! I hope all is well with you this fine (and less humid) day!
