Since finding the variegated embroidery floss I’ve been looking for at CreativFestival on Sunday, I’ve managed to make some more progress embellishing the bird panels.
Each flower is being worked in backstick through all three layers (panel, batting and backing.) The variegation of the floss shows up much better in person than it does in the photo and I’m really pleased with how this first flower turned out. One down, three to go!
Then I just have the beads to add to the center of the flowers and the flower buds and beads for the birds eyes and I’ll be able to move on to the next stage of sewing the panels into a pretty tote bag.
What are you working on this week? Let me know in the comments and if you’ve got a post up about it, mention that too. I’d love to drop by your blog and see.
