If you’re looking for something cute to add to your fall decor, Strawbyn Scarecrow is an easy to stitch project using only the basic stitches of backstitch, whipped backstitch, stem stitch and a tiny bit of satin stitch.
Hoop the finished embroidery as pictured or embroider him on tea towels, table runners and other household linens. He’d be super cute turned into a banner to hang on the door or elsewhere in the house.
Or how about making an autumn tote to take to your local farmers’ markets for bringing home the fall garden bounty.
Details on the stitches and floss colors used to make the one pictured can be found in the Strawbyn Scarescrow blog post
In that post you’ll also find my sweet short short story called The Making of Strawbyn Scarecrow. Sally is so proud of how well garden has done this year so when she spies crows in her corn patch, she knows she needs to build a scarecrow and fast!
