This sweet Coming Home applique block (pictured on the left) was one of two blocks I designed for June for the In Our Garden BOM (Block of the Month.)
What could be a more classic addition to any garden than a pretty bird house. And of course, it’s perched high on a pole to make sure that whatever bird takes up residence is safe from the neighborhood cats.
The pattern includes step-by-step instructions with lots of photos. The applique pattern pieces are all numbered in the order in which they are applied to the background fabric.
Also included is a super simple technique to create the white picket fence using a template that I provide you and ordinary parchment paper.
Wouldn’t it look pretty as a pillow cover!
And while the BOM is over, you’ll still find many of the other months’ blocks are still available if you decided to make a quilt.
