If you’re looking for a super easy DIY gift for the tea lover in your life that can be personalized to their individual tastes, you couldn’t get easier than this.
Here’s a list of what you’ll need:
- A mug
- Loose tea from your favorite tea vendor
- A tea scoop for the recipient to measure out their tea
- Small baggies to hold the tea (we used the surefresh snack portion pack size)
- Unbleached cotton drawstring tea bags (you can find these on Amazon).
- Labels to label the loose leaf tea plastic baggie
First, fill your plastic baggies with the loose leaf tea of choice using a teaspoon. A little paper funnel makes this easy.
Using the labels, write the name of the tea and stick it to the plastic baggie so that your recipient knows which tea is which. You can put multiple baggies in each tea mug. Once the labels are on the plastic baggies, it’s a simple matter of assembly. Put the baggie inside a cotton drawstring tea bag with a tea scoop and then pop all into their tea mug.
Here’s an example of what it can look like. This one is Christmas themed, but you can customize it for any occasion.
Since this one was Christmas themed, we also added a little wooden Christmas ornament to the handle.
We made multiple mugs for all of our children and dropped them off as a special surprise before Christmas Eve so they could have a nice cuppa tea while waiting for Santa.
We wrapped them in cellophane and ribbons to make them really festive.
And there you have it. A super easy gift to give to the tea lover in your life.
You can also customize this to include hot chocolate (cocoa bombs are wonderful in this as well), or with coffee for the coffee lover. Try the new Maxwell House International Cafe coffees for some unique flavors.
