Thanks so much to all who entered and left such wonderful, heart-warming comments!
Super Mom – No Cape turned 9 this month!
To celebrate, I’ve been busy sewing away making one-of-a-kind gifts for a giveaway to thank all those who subscribe and follow me. I can’t tell you how much your support means to me!
Now I’d need many lifetimes to make something for every one, but I can and did make things that will be given to one lucky person who enters.
First, I made this pretty tote:
The tote is made from the very rare and hard to find, Stitches by Lynnette Anderson Designs for Henry Glass. I was lucky enough to come across some last year at one of my local quilt shops. I bought 2 yards off of each of the three bolts they had in stock.
The inside is lined with coordinating fabric from the same line.
As you can see, it has two nice sized pockets to help keep things organized. (One of my pet peeves are tote bags without pockets.)
Right now, bullet journals and planners are all the rage. They can also be unbelievably expensive to keep replacing as you fill them up.
Here I’ve taken a plain old composition book that you can get for a buck at the dollar store (50 cents if you shop back to school sales) and made a cover to match the tote. Once the composition book is full, replace it with a new one.
I’m also including 3 fat quarters of the Stitches fabric in case you’d like to make more accessories to go with them.
When I showed the finished items to our middle daughter, she said that while they were lovely, all together, they didn’t seem to be as big a prize as what I’m giving away in the 100th Stitchery Link Party giveaway.
So I raided her stash (it’s fun to have daughters who sew) to find fabric to make this beautiful Prairie Point Star Ornament. <<Click the link to be taken to the tutorial.
And last but certainly not least, this sweet owl pincushion made using my Archimedes Pincushion pattern for sale on Craftsy.
We’ve named her Artemis after the Greek Goddess of the hunt.
Even fearless hunters like to look pretty, so I added a tiny bow to her tail. 🙂
Here’s a photo of everything the winner will receive:
The rules to be entered are simple:
- Leave a comment telling me what you’re celebrating this month or what you’re looking forward to celebrating in the coming months.
- Open world-wide. I will ship internationally, anywhere regular snail mail can be delivered.
- The giveaway will run from now until midnight EDT on March 31, 2017.
- One winner will be chosen from all those who comment on this post.
- Please Note: Because of the amount of time and fabric that went into making this prize, the giveaway is open to Super Mom – No Cape subscribers and followers only.
If you don’t already subscribe and would like to click here >> Subscribe Now!
If you follow me on other social media such as Pinterest, Twitter or Facebook, in your comment be sure to let me know where you follow me.
Good luck everyone! I look forward to reading what you’ll be celebrating.

March 30, 2017 11:40 amThis month we celebrated my father-in-law’s 90th birthday on St. Patrick’s Day. He was so proud of making it to 90 years old. Sad to say that he passed away only 8 days later, but it was not unexpected. After his funeral we gathered as a family for a meal and made it a birthday party. Congratulations on your 9th blogiversary!

Many congratulations to you on your blog anniversary. I have enjoyed your blog for some of those years and it continues to still be great. March 24, 2017 1:05 amThis is a wonderful month ! We celebrate my birthday, my granddaughters bithdays(2)’ and my adopted daughter Yuki’s birthday as well, she’s ffrom Japan. My daughter has just recently sparked an interest in sewing, so I am very excited! We are both on limited incomes , me being on disability and she having 4 children, makes it hard to buy fabric, Etcetra! But we seem to find ways to find fabric to make our projects. We take cotton shirts apart, save buttons, bows and anything we can find. I’ve been getting by for years this way. She is just starting out. In a way it’s kind of fun! Also, I love the designs you so graciously post for us. And I wanted to thank you personally for them!.
Good, luck to everyone. Your gifts are a labor of,over and who ever wins them will be so,very pleased!
Blessings

March 23, 2017 5:07 amCongratulations. I’m celebrating several small things this month. Spring although I’d like to skip over mud season. Tomorrow our son is coming out to help DH replace the bathroom floor and dropping off the grand kids to stay for a week during spring break. And learning how to knit Continental style. I love knitting but had to give it up a few years ago because it hurt my wrists too much. But I read that Continental style was much easier on the hands so a couple of weeks ago I started learning. After a practice ball and knitting a pair of socks with side seams, yesterday I finally found that my tension is good enough to cast of my first toe-up sock and start knitting.

March 23, 2017 3:23 amHappy blog birthday! What a wonderful achievement and you are so talented and generous with your gifts. I’m celebrating that almost 18 months after a brain injury I am now pain killer free! Well, mostly anyway, but a lot better than I was. I’m still completely certain that my embroidery has been a huge factor in my recovery!

March 23, 2017 1:18 amI admire your talent and focus!
There are several celebrations/milestones this month:
Just had my 2nd mammogram after breast cancer … haven’t heard results yet so think everything is good. Last year this time I was leaving the house in s wheelchair due to infected knee replacement… after 3 more surgeries I have new knee and finishing up antibiotic treatment for infection and doing really well. AND today is my DH’s birthday… last May he was given 6-8 months to live due to lung, brain (and then bone and liver) cancer. Well after radiation, collapsing last summer – twice – and now finishing up chemo… he’s still here… feeling better than he has since May … AND we are going to celebrate!

March 22, 2017 10:44 pmWe celebrated my grandson’s 7th birthday last weekend! We had a blast all day long…opened presents, the kids had a scavenger hunt….his presents were hidden in the oven…we made sure nothing needed baking! We then watched the Mississippi State women’s basketball team as they advanced to the Sweet Sixteen!!! Think we were through? Nope, we then went to the MSU softball game. They picked Teddy to play the “What’s in the Box” contest and they had put extra specially nice things for his BD…a MSU lunch box and an great shirt! What a great weekend!

March 22, 2017 8:51 pmMy celebration this month? I had an “anniversary” mammogram 12 months after having an earlier one which showed I had breast cancer. Treatment followed, surgeries and radiation, plus ongoing pills which I must take for some years. And the results of my anniversary mammogram came back “no sign of recurrence of breast cancer”. That’s certainly something to celebrate!!
Many thanks for the chance to win those beautiful items which you have lovingly made. And yes, I am a subscriber/follower.
