Do you ever feel like someone has pressed fast forward on the world and that you’re always playing catch-up?
This whole year has seemed like that to me!
But there’s one thing that I’m almost caught up on… the In Our Garden BOM. I’m about half way through the hand stitching on this month’s applique block designed by Lana from It Seams To Be Sew.
I posted a photo of this month’s pieced block over on Instagram @supermomnocape if you’d like to stop by to see it. And while you’re there, I’d love to have you follow me. 🙂
November’s block will be available for free until the 30th. Even if you’re super busy working on gifts and projects for the holidays, be sure to save this month’s blocks so that you can make them when you have time.
Several weeks ago, I finished the hand stitching on May’s applique block and had taken photos of it and the pieced block but those photos were lost when the hard drive on my laptop crashed.
Friday morning, I finally made the time to take new photos.
Blocks 7 & 8 were designed by Carla from Creatin In the Sticks.
When Carla’s blocks came out in May, I was still getting our house organized after our move but even after that, I put off making Block 7 because I knew that it would test my piecing skills. And test them it did!
The final block is by no means perfect, but the dark colors help mask the imperfections and I think once the quilt is quilted, they will barely be noticeable.
Block 8 was another fun applique block!
I’m always amazed at how much of a difference the hand stitching makes to the finished block!
Then about a week ago, I finally finished the hand stitching on the applique blocks I designed for my month in June.
