Since our move back to Canada in November I’ve been in the process of taking stock of my unfinished projects and getting an idea of just how much fabric in my stash that needs using up but I thought I’d share a couple of my recent sewing finishes.
When our middle daughter was here over the Christmas holidays, she had some fun browsing through the dresser where I store my fabric. She came across some purple flower fabric that she really liked and asked me if I’d make her a book cover similar to the journal cover I’d made for future son-in-law for Christmas. She has a special inspirational book that she reads over and over and wanted a pretty cover for it.
Some measuring of the book, another browse through to choose fabrics for the inside flaps and lining and we were all set to get to work.
Next, she added some pretty jewels to give it some sparkle!
She liked how much it turned out so much that she asked me if I’d make another book cover in the same purple flower fabric for a good friend of hers who shares her love of the same inspirational book.
For her friend’s book cover she chose different fabrics for the inside flaps and lining. Her friend loves birds and hats so that Phyllis Dobbs print from the “It’s a Dog’s Life” collection by Quilting Treasures released a few years ago seemed the perfect choice.
