Santa Sack Swap 2014 – My Gifts from Terry

I signed up again this year for the Santa Sack Swap hosted by Cheryll over at Gone Stitchin.

We were to make a sack, stocking or tote for our partner and then fill it with 5 gifts, most of which were to be handmade.  As this wasn’t a secret swap, each partner got to choose whether they wanted a sack, a stocking or a tote.

My swap partner was a lovely lady named Terry from California.   This is just what was inside the package that arrived from her that wasn’t wrapped.  Wait until you see what was wrapped!

Since I received a sack in last year’s swap, I decided that I’d like a tote this year.

And what a pretty tote it was that Terry made for me out of some gorgeous Hibiscus print fabric.  You could really tell that Terry had been reading my blog and knows how much I love and miss Hawaii.

She also knows that I love ladybugs, so there were lots of those.  There was this adorable ladybug pincushion and a yo-yo Christmas Tree with ladybug button decorations!

As you can see below, one of the gifts was even wrapped with ladybug paper (which I’ve saved) and a drawstring bag made out of ladybug fabric with ladybug buttons on the ends of the drawstrings.

 Rolled up and tied with red and white sparkly tulle was this amazing English Paper Pieced table runner.

More labybugs on the backing fabric and just look at the beautiful hand quilting!  I can only imagine the number of hours it must have taken her to make this.

Or the time it took to crochet this pretty ruffled scarf.

Look… a ladybug pin too!

And then even more time to embroider these beautiful tea towels.

I’ve made embroidered gifts for other people but I’ve never received an embroidered gift, so these are extra special.  I’ve decided to use them to cover bread dough when it’s rising.  That way they get used but will still stay nice.

Terry also included a set of terrycloth tea towel with Cardinals on them (see bottom photo.)

Inside the ladybug drawstring bag were lots of goodies:

The little yellow crocheted hat is actually a needle book, complete with a ladybug straight pin inside.  There were also two craft kits, two packages of crocheted embellishments, Canada themed scrapbook buttons, sparkly mini clothespins, ladybug notepad and if you look in the back, you’ll see a set of ladybug earbuds… too cute!

This orange stand-up tote was also filled with goodies:

Two charm packs, rainbow napkins and a pretty napkin holder which I’m actually using to display the charm packs until I can figure out what to turn them into.

As you can see, I was really spoiled:

She even included a box of English tea to enjoy in my new mug.
