Vintage Embroidery Monday – Rose Doily

On the Workbasket pattern sheet this was labelled as Rose Doily.  To make the doily, trace one half and then flip the pattern to trace the other half.

There are so many possibilities with this pattern.  It would look beautiful done in a simple outline stitch but would be absolutely stunning worked in satin stitch.

I can also picture using just the one half to embellish the flap of a small black evening purse or clutch.
