For the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing some photos of the spring blooms (both here on my blog and on instagram) that have begun to appear in our area. Today I have some Spring Blooms of another kind to share.
Shortly after I opened my Instagram account, I discovered and started following bellacaronia. She was sharing photos of her first line of fabrics that she has designed for Windham Fabrics.
It’s called Spring Bloom and while all the fabrics in the line are gorgeous, there was one in particular that caught my eye. I decided then and there that I was going wait until it was released and even if I had to order it on-line and pay international shipping I was going to have some of it.
Well it turns out that the fabric came to me in the most fun way possible! From April 20th to May 2nd several bloggers took part in the Spring Bloom Blog Hop. Every day of the hop I would visit the blog whose turn it was to showcase what they had made with Spring Bloom. I was amazed and inspired by the different projects each blogger shared.
They were also each hosting a giveaway for an entire fat quarter bundle of Spring Bloom! You can bet that I entered every single one in the hopes that I would win.
I was so excited when I received an e-mail from Cindy over at Live a Colorful Life saying that I had won her giveaway!
That gorgeous bundle of fabricy goodness above arrived on Friday.
Anyone who knows me or who has been following me for any length of time, knows that I love bright, cheerful fabric. And this Spring Bloom fabric is all of that and more!
I immediately introduced the bundle to my vintage Singer 15-91 so they could begin to get acquainted.
The bundle looked so pretty sitting there that it took me a whole day before I opened it… though I did “page” through the fabrics several times. 🙂
But once I decided what I was going to make now that I had not just one of the fabrics in the line but all of them, it was just a matter of going shopping for background fabric. Here you can see each of the fat quarters fanned out in a circle on top of the black fabric I chose.
I also have a small project planned for that first fabric I fell in love with. And I’ll be sharing that just as soon as I get it finished.
In the meantime, if you would like to see the stunning pillow and Sew Together Bag that Cindy made with the fabric she received from Windham check out her Spring Bloom Blog Hop post here. On her post, you’ll also find a list of all the other blogs that took part in the hop. Be sure to check them out too. I can guarantee you will find something to inspire you.
You’ve probably guessed by now that I am super excited to get to play with this gorgeous Spring Bloom fabric and I just want to thank Amanda Way Caronia (bellacaronia), Cindy from Live a Colorful Life and Windham Fabrics for giving me that chance!
