The months have sped by and here we are having entered the final quarter of 2015. I had hoped by now to have cleared my list of UFOs/WIPs. Instead I find myself rolling over several of the projects from Quarter 3 of the 2015 Finish Along.
To recap, these are the projects I finished from that list:
Seeds of Friendship Bolster Cover
There were, however, several projects completed that weren’t on the list such as my new Scarlett O’Hara housecoat made from a thrifted cotton shower curtain and the vintage inspired Thanksgiving apron, as well as variety of other smaller projects.
I also managed to get my Disappearing Nine Patch quilt sandwiched and hand-basted.
Now this needs to be quilted and bound.
The Smiling Sunflower quilt pictured below needs to be sandwiched, hand-basted, quilted and bound.
My Holiday Celebrations quilt also needs to be sandwiched, hand-basted, quilted and bound.
The top and back (pictured below) were made for my day of last spring’s Tree Bird Blog Hop.
Those are the three large projects, I’m rolling over to my 2015 Finish Along Q4 Goals.
I started out the year with several embroideries that needed to be turned into something.
The three unchecked ones are what’s left of the smaller embroideries to be completed this quarter.
“Keep Calm Santa’s On His Way” is in the process of being turned into an advent calendar.
I’ve chosen to make the Advent Calendar my goal for October for A Love Year of Finishes.
I hope to do a bit more Christmasy embroidery in the white areas and I’ll need to make the pockets as well. The look of the final product will depend on whether my arm will allow me to start short embroidery sessions. Last time I tried, I only managed about 20 stitches before it let me know it wasn’t ready for that yet.
Of the three large embroideries that I started the year with, two still await transformation.
If I can somehow manage to get all of the above finished, I will be able to start the new year with no unfinished projects created prior to spring 2015. Whether I’ll be able to do that while also completing this year’s Christmas gifts remains to be seen.
Wish me luck!
Oh and I thought I’d show you Dave’s current work-in-progress:
He’s finished the initial sanding of the top of what will be my new cutting table. That’s the underside of the top in the lower left photo.
This weekend, he’ll be working on finishing the first sanding of the legs (lower right.) Then he’ll switch to a finer grit of sand paper.
He plans to stain and finish it to match the Art Deco Cabinet that houses my vintage Singer 15-91.
I’m so excited so see how it turns out!!
