Seeds of Friendship Bolster Cover Finished

Seeds of Friendship Bolster Cover Finished

It wasn’t done in time for our oldest daughter’s visit but finally the Seeds of Friendship bolster cover is finished and on the bed in the guest bedroom.

The Ambleside mini charm pack that I used to frame the embroidery looks as lovely as I had hoped it would.

As I mentioned back in this post… my entry was drawn in June’s Ho Ho Ho and On We Sew link party and I was allowed to choose any mini charm pack that I wanted from Fat Quarter Shop.

The pattern for the embroidery was purchased at one of my favorite quilt shops way back in June of 2012.

Pattern for Seeds of Friendship embroidery

It’s by Sherri K. Falls of This and That Pattern Company.  Sherri’s new book called Winter Wonderland is on my wish list.

For the round ends of the bolster cover, I cross hatch quilted a piece of pretty yellow with white polka fabric from my stash and then cut the circles to fit.

I inserted a concealed zipper so that the cover can be removed when it needs to be laundered.

The bolster sits ready to welcome overnight guests:

Beautifully done, Sue! I love the fabrics you chose to frame the sweet embroidery and those dots for the end panels of the bolster make this just perfect. It is the loveliest way to welcome your overnight guests!

Very pretty!! I have been to your favorite quilt shop on a Shop Hop and I loved it! I want to go back again but it’s a 2 hour or more drive from where I live in Columbus Indiana so can’t go often.

Your bolster looks so pretty! I love the colours (not ones I would normally use myself, but I admire them from afar….funny how we seem to get stuck on certain colours).

Hurray! Good for you for finishing, and it is definitely so lovely. Thanks for showing that concealed zipper, too. That’s a great idea. It looks wonderful on your bed.

Your bolster is gorgeous – a welcoming touch to the guest room. I really like the finishing touches, and pattern adaptations that you did such as the cross hatching at the ends and the concealed zipper.
